What a repotting visit covers
- The right call on timing. Not every struggling plant needs a bigger pot, and repotting at the wrong moment adds stress. I check first.
- The right pot: correct size jump, real drainage, and a look that fits your home.
- The right mix. Aroids, succulents, orchids, and ferns all want different soil. Bagged all-purpose mix suits none of them perfectly.
- Root work where needed: loosening circling roots, trimming rot, and giving the plant a clean start.
- Aftercare instructions so the plant settles in instead of sulking.
Why the mix matters more than the pot
In Florida's humidity, a heavy mix stays wet long enough to rot roots, which is why so many repotted plants decline instead of thriving. Fast-draining, airy mixes matched to each plant type prevent the single most common cause of houseplant death here: too much water held too long.
Common questions
How do I know my plant needs repotting?
Roots circling the surface or poking out the drainage holes, water running straight through without soaking in, growth that stalled, or a plant that dries out days faster than it used to. If you are not sure, send a photo through the booking form and I will tell you.
Do you bring the pots and soil?
I bring the soil, fresh mixes blended for each plant type, and I can bring pots too if you tell me your style, or work with pots you already own. Materials are billed at cost alongside the visit.
Is repotting risky for the plant?
Done at the wrong time or into the wrong mix, it can be. Done properly, most plants barely notice. Each repot comes with simple aftercare instructions for the few weeks the plant is settling in.
